Administrative Assistant (Seasonal Assignment)

Location: Akron, OH (Must live within the Akron/Canton area)

Pay Rate: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Schedule: 5x8 days, 36–40 hours per week

Duration: Approx. 15 weeks (Expected Start: 8/10/2026 | End: 11/21/2026)

Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, 401K, and weekly direct deposit


Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and empathetic Administrative Assistant for a seasonal assignment with a premier healthcare delivery system in Akron. This hybrid/remote role begins with approximately 4 weeks of mandatory in-person training in Akron, with potential occasional in-office requirements throughout the contract.

In this role, you will act as a primary point of contact for health plan members, delivering personalized customer service over the phone and via electronic communications to resolve inquiries regarding enrollment, benefits, and billing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to member inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, claims, billing, and authorizations with a warm, empathetic demeanor.
  • Accurately document and track all member interactions, inquiries, and complaints in internal tracking systems (such as Amisys and Macess).
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding member health and business information.
  • Meet or exceed departmental production and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years of administrative support or customer service experience (call center background preferred).
  • Industry Knowledge: A background in Medicare and/or health insurance is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Adept keyboarding and computer skills, including experience navigating Windows, working with internal databases, and managing remote setups (WiFi, VPN, audio controls).
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a strong service-oriented attitude.

*** Note: Training is strictly in person for the first 4 weeks. Reliable local residency is required.
