Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Corrections / Public Health

Location: Seattle, WA (Local Candidates Only)

Facility / Client: King County Public Health – Jail (KCCF Team)

Position Type: Local Contract / Temporary Assignment

Contract Duration: ~6 Months / 940 Hours (Expected Start: August 31, 2026 – February 27, 2027)

Schedule: 40 hours/week | 8-Hour Shifts (Must be flexible across days, evenings, and nights; includes weekends)

Pay Rate: $26.00 / hour (Weekly Direct Deposit)


Job Overview

We are seeking reliable, experienced Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) for a 6-month local contract assignment with King County Public Health serving the King County Correctional Facility (KCCF) team in Seattle, WA. In this role, you will assist clinical providers and nursing staff in delivering essential medical care and daily living support to individuals within a correctional facility environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provider & Nurse Support: Assist healthcare providers and nursing staff with clinical procedures, triage support, and routine patient care tasks.
  • Direct Patient Care: Provide basic medical care, monitor vital signs, and support activities of daily living (ADLs) for residents.
  • Specialized Program Support: Assist with clinical workflows related to the Buprenorphine Long-Acting Injection (BUPE) program.
  • Observation & Reporting: Observe resident physical and behavioral conditions, reporting any changes promptly to the nursing or provider team.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records in accordance with facility and county public health protocols.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • License: Active CNA License in the State of Washington.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of CNA experience required.
  • Specialized Experience: Hands-on experience with BUPE (buprenorphine long-acting injection) workflows required.
  • Preferred Background: Previous experience in Corrections or Inpatient Care settings strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: Current BLS (CPR) Certification.
  • Locality: Must be a local candidate.
  • Clearance: Must be willing to undergo a comprehensive background check and fingerprinting process (processing can take up to 10 weeks prior to start date).
