Registered Nurse (RN) – Correctional Health

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN)

Shift: Days (5x8s | 40 hours/week) – Includes weekends and holidays

Assignment Duration: 16 Weeks (Travel or Local)

Pay Rate: $2,181.25 / week


Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 16-week travel or local assignment with DHS / LA County Correctional Health Services in Los Angeles, CA.

In this role, you will provide essential clinical care and support to adult inmate patients within a secure, locked forensic facility setting. You will work within the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Program and general correctional health care, collaborating closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams and law enforcement personnel.


Facility Locations

Assigned facilities within LA County Correctional Health Services include:

  • Twin Towers Correctional Facility (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Men’s Central Jail (Los Angeles, CA)
  • Century Regional Detention Facility (Lynwood, CA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care, health assessments, and medication administration to incarcerated adult patients.
  • Support patient care within the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.
  • Triage medical concerns, conduct routine clinic visits, and manage acute health needs within a correctional environment.
  • Maintain strict safety protocols and professional standards while operating in a forensic setting.
  • Document patient records accurately and coordinate care with medical staff and facility personnel.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent RN experience in a Correctional setting (inpatient correctional experience required).
  • Licensure: Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Certifications:
    • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • Management of Assertive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
    • LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (Must be specifically LA City certified)
  • Clearances: Ability to clear LA County background check and Employee Health Clearance prior to start.
