Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room to join our team for an 8-week travel assignment at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Torrance, California.
In this role, you will oversee comprehensive patient care throughout the perioperative process—before, during, and after surgical or medical procedures. You will work closely with surgeons and the surgical team to deliver care for elective, urgent, and emergent surgical cases in a high-volume, metropolitan Level 1 Trauma environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and operating suites for surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile environment.
- Monitor vital signs and manage intraoperative patient safety and care.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs, including instrument passing and maintaining sterile fields.
- Manage perioperative documentation and patient care coordination across elective, urgent, and trauma cases.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a Level 1 Trauma Operating Room within a metropolitan or high-volume institution.
- Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
- Certifications Required:
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Management of Aggressive Behavior (MAB) or CPI training
- LA City Fire and Life Safety Card (must be LA City specific)
- Onboarding Clearances: Must complete LA County Employee Health Clearance and Live Scan fingerprinting prior to the assignment start date.
Pay & Benefit Package
- Estimated Weekly Pre-Tax Pay: $2,307.33 – $2,714.50 per week (based on a 36-hour workweek)
- Hourly Base Rate: $25.00 / hour
