Mental Health Professional – SUDP Clinical Supervisor

Location: Vashon, WA

Facility / Client: Thunderbird Treatment Center (Seattle Indian Health Board)

Position Type: Local Contract / Temp-to-Hire / Permanent

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (Expected Start: August 17, 2026 – November 14, 2026)

Schedule: 4x10s | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 6:00 PM window) | Includes quarterly on-call rotation

Pay Range: $37.31 – $43.90 / hour (Weekly Direct Deposit)


Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) Clinical Supervisor to lead and oversee clinical care at a brand-new residential facility, the Thunderbird Treatment Center on Vashon Island, WA. In this role, you will split your time evenly between direct clinical practice (50% / 20 hours) and administrative/clinical oversight (50% / 20 hours), delivering culturally attuned, high-quality care rooted in traditional Indian medicine and guided by the IndigiKnow Model of Care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical Supervision & Development: Provide ongoing group and individual clinical supervision to SUDP Counselors and Trainees, conducting weekly case staffings and delivering clinical trainings.
  • Utilization & Chart Reviews: Perform utilization reviews and bi-monthly quality assurance chart audits to ensure care plans, medical necessity, and documentation comply with licensing, funding, and accreditation standards.
  • Direct Clinical Care: Maintain direct clinical practice and provide oversight for crisis interventions, complex cases, and specialized care management.
  • Program Collaboration: Coordinate closely with outpatient SUD and Mental Health teams to ensure seamless continuity of care for relatives across all treatment levels.
  • Policy & Process Support: Help develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Certifications: Active Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) Certification and Qualified SUD Clinical Supervisor status required.
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Counseling Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience as an SUD Clinical Supervisor required.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with state/federal SUD and Mental Health regulations for residential facilities and experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Cultural Awareness: Familiarity with the health and social issues affecting American Indian and Alaska Native communities, with a strong commitment to serving this population.
  • Licensure & Mobility: Valid Washington State Driver’s License with insured personal transportation.
