Shift / Schedule: Day Shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM), 5x8s / 40 hours per week (flexibility in days off preferred)

Expected Assignment Dates: 8/17/2026 – 1/2/2027

Position Overview

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a skilled and reliable AM Line Cook to join the culinary services team. In this fast-paced healthcare environment, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for patients, families, and hospital staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Food Preparation & Cooking:
  • Set up culinary stations and prepare daily menu items, short-order requests, and specials in accordance with established recipes and portion controls.
  • Chop, slice, and prep raw ingredients (vegetables, meats, and sauces) for morning and afternoon service.
  • Cook meals efficiently during peak breakfast and lunch service hours while maintaining high presentation and quality standards.
• Sanitation & Food Safety:
  • Adhere strictly to hospital, local, and regulatory food safety guidelines, including temperature logging and proper labeling/dating of stored items.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation before, during, and after shifts.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with stocking and receiving kitchen supplies as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Short-Order Cook required.
  • Prior culinary experience in a healthcare or high-volume institutional setting is strongly preferred.
  • Strong line management and multi-tasking skills under tight time constraints.
• Certifications & Compliance:
  • Valid Washington State Food Handler Permit (or ability to obtain prior to start).
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required on file.
